“I don’t know where I’m going from here,
but I promise it won’t be boring.”
-David Bowie

What happened when I returned to work with the film maker Nic Askew in London after 14 years and the revealing of my Inner Rebel and the relationship with Belonging and Systemic Leadership…

MY ‘NEW’ INNER VIEW FILM….

I’m  sat in a beautiful place in Covent Garden, eyes closed, trying to ground myself as I waited for Nic to be ready…
Its been 14 years since I’d last been filmed by Nic and his ‘Inner View Film Method’ and boy had a lot happened in my life since then…
For one I’m now in ‘Middlessence’…and my hair has turned grey…
Both the film and My One Woman Show ‘Being, had sent me, my work and my life in a radically different direction.
The Film we’d previously made together: “Hello Yellow Brick Road” had meant taking a huge personal and creative risk for me. Never before had I allowed myself to be filmed in such an open and vulnerable way.
But Nic’s new and exciting work had hugely inspired me and I’d felt compelled to work with him to explore deeper my ‘Inner View’.
Fourteen years ago I was longing to find out:
WHO AM I? and…
What’s MY ‘AUTHENTIC’ VOICE?…
But where will this new film take me?

“OUR DEEPEST FEAR…”

Intuitively I began to recite the famous Marianne Williamson Quote, which I’d first seen on the wall of one of my first Business Clients, GE Capital.
I opened my eyes to look at Nic sat behind the Camera and continued…

…Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate  our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. Its not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

In my presence I could feel my ‘Rebel Self’…

THE REBEL ARCHETYPE… When I first saw this quote I thought it was attributed to Nelson Mandela as part of his inaugural speech. I was so taken with the quote that my Client generously gave it to me as a gift.

I’d only been in business for a few weeks and the quote formed the foundation of my VISION for my new Consultancy Business.

Secretly I’d longed to be free. I’d always struggled with being managed (controlled), being told what to do and the pressure to fit in. I’d always felt ‘Out of the Box’ and dreamed of the freedom to follow my own intuitive path and to be able to express myself creatively and be in control of my own destiny.

The Rebel Archetype is one who challenges authority, they go against the grain and have a liberated way of thinking. They have a cause, they want to create change and inspire others to do the same and they want to disrupt and destroy what isn’t working. They are practical, resourceful, non-conformist and and driven.
The ‘shadow’ Rebel includes the ‘Criminal’, the “Sabotuer’ and the ‘Fighter’…

THE REBEL AND BELONGING… “I would rather be a rebel than a slave”
Emmeline Pankhurst

Rebels will take the risk of not ‘Belonging’ in order to speak the truth and in doing so offer a ‘higher degree of awareness’ in service of the System.
However, Rebels can often be excluded and evicted from the System which then risks the System losing vital information. Listening to the Rebel(s) takes courage as it will most probably mean that something and someone will need to change, which is often uncomfortable…

“Systemic Leaders know that ‘Resistance’ is a form of loyalty and rebellion is a form of dedication to the System as a whole… They understand that rebels need to be heard because they have important information about the system as a whole… So they listen to the Rebels in the Organisation” Jan Jacob Stam

Where Are The Rebels?
There’s a ‘theory’ that Rebels are attracted to SYSTEMIC CONSTELLATION work, as they’re passionate about Real and Lasting Change.
Could this be YOU? Are you curious to find out?
